Signpost is a company that produces marketing automation software used by small and medium-sized businesses. It now would like to expand by relocating its Denver office to an 8,500-square-foot location near the downtown area.
Signpost is considered a venture-backed startup. It is said to have raised $15 million from investors and from Google Ventures. Other funds were raised last year from investors to add staffing. It appears that most of its new employees will be located in Colorado.
The CEO for Signpost states that the Denver location is vital to their future. “Denver is really going to be where our growth comes from going forward,” he said. While the company had 25 to 30 employees in Denver by the end of 2013, he hopes that the number will grow to around 100 before the end of 2014. He also thinks that Denver is a good location due to employee loyalty and lower cost of doing business.
The CEO did mention how many of the front-office tasks for small business owners are “way too complicated to do yourself.” These tasks would include marketing to existing customers and creating new profiles across social media sites.
These items are not the only tasks too difficult to do one self, however. Raising financing is one other area that startup businesses may find challenging – especially when there are risks involved. These businesses may find it useful to retain the services of attorneys who are experienced in the area of business law, who can make certain that business plans are formulated correctly and who can work with venture capital companies that would be willing to provide financing.
